FORMER Carlton superstar Anthony Koutoufides will become a Redback for Carisbrook's season opener.
Carisbrook Football Club committe announced this afternoon it had endorsed a request from the club's coaching department in round one, under lights, in the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League.
The match is a stand-alone launch fixture, seven days before the league's scheduled round one.
It will be the first of two Kouta appearances in the AFL Goldfields Region this season.
He has already signed on to play with Darley against Melton South on May 15 in the Ballarat Football League.
Carisbrook president Jim Long was excited to announce Koutoufides' inclusion, as a stand-alone game, hoped it would draw a big crowd on a night where Carisbrook would unfurl its 2012 senior premiership flag.
