NOTHING was going to make UB Ballarat Pride let this match slip.
Pride has a history of competitiveness before nerves set in - but not this time in a one-goal win against Geelong Cougars in Victorian Netball League championship division last night.
The difference this time?
Pride captain Johanna Dash said her team remained calm, focused and just kept chipping away.
"Everybody played really well and gave 110 per cent out there - everyone out there busted our guts," Dash said.
"Hats off to our coaches, too. Every change they pulled worked."
Victory marks Pride's fifth win in five VNL seasons.
Pride broke a 45-game losing streak in VNL's championship division in their final round last season.
Dash said last night's round two win took some pressure off her team and gave a renewed, early confidence to attack the season.
