BALLAN police have confirmed missing Ballarat girl Gemma Abraham has been found at Mount Wallace.

Paramedics were called to the area shortly after police located her walking in the area about 12.30pm.

It was initially thought she may be suffering dehydration.

The teen had been missing since leaving her Ballarat home for a walk on Sunday morning.

Earlier today, a Victoria Police spokesman said the 14-year-old had been sighted near the Mount Wallace Hall along Mount Wallace Hall Road, wearing a white singlet, shorts and thongs about 2.30am today.

Police said Gemma, a Ballarat Grammar student, left without taking any of her belongings.

The police air wing conducted an aerial search between Fiskville and Mount Wallace this morning.

In 2009, Gemma was named Ballarat's Young Citizen of the Year.

She has had extensive community involvement including as a competitor in the Royal South Street Competitions and is on the Ballarat Friends of Ainaro Community Committee.
