More hot weather on the way

Despite a strong cool change over the weekend, it is not quite the end of summer yet. Weatherzone meteorologist Ben McBurney said people could expect another burst of summer heat mid-next week.

“Temperatures will remain pretty close to average for this time of the year,” Mr McBurney said.

“Apart from this weekend, when we get a strong cool change, which will bring showers tomorrow.

“However, mid next week might start warming up and there will be another burst of summer heat but it won’t be as long as what we have just seen.”

Meanwhile, Ballarat swimmers have more time to exercise with the Eureka pool season extended by two weeks.

The pool will now remain open, subject to weather, until April 7.

People and Communities Portfolio councillor Des Hudson said the Eureka pool was one of the city’s most important recreational facilities, and the season extension was a great way to cap off a busy summer.

“Ballarat’s pools have been the place to be this summer,” Cr Hudson said.

“The extension of the Eureka pool season allows residents to make use of the facility during the Easter break.”
