NORTH Ballarat Roosters will get their first taste tomorrow of one of the most talked-about teams this summer in the Victorian Football League.
Williamstown has gone on a big recruiting campaign, securing the likes of former AFL-listed players Brent Prismall (Geelong/Essendon), Justin Sherman (Brisbane), Leigh Williams (Melbourne) and Cameron Wood (Brisbane/Collingwood).
All four have been named for the Seagulls in a practice match against the Roosters at Eureka Stadium.
This is the Selkirk Roosters’ third pre-season clash. The Roosters deliberately targeted traditional league heavyweights to bout, starting with Port Melbourne and a win against depleted reigning VFL premier Geelong at Kardinia Park.
The Roosters will host their season launch and jumper presentation post-match.
VFL round one action starts next weekend but the Roosters will open their campaign on April 6 in the split round, against Collingwood at Victoria Park.
