Melbourne Vixen star shooter Sharelle McMahon to visit Ballarat

MELBOURNE Vixens star shooter Sharelle McMahon will work with the region’s promising netballers this afternoon.

The former Australian Diamonds captain’s visit will include a small, specialist session with Central Highlands Regional State League goalers at Ballarat Netball Association tonight.

McMahon will arrive in Ballarat as lead-in festivities to the inaugural Central Highlands RSL grand final, which will share billing with UB Ballarat Pride’s home game fixture on Saturday.

Loreto College students will be first on McMahon’s schedule for clinic work, before a training session with junior Ballarat representative players.

Former Vixen Kath Knott, who now plays with Pride rival City West Falcons, will be guest speaker in the RSL grand finals.

McMahon’s sister Kate McMahon will coach the Ballarat Football Netball League team into the open division grand final against the Di Rogers-coached Eureka.

Wimmera Netball Association will battle Eureka in the RSL 17/under grand final from 11am Saturday.
