MELBOURNE Vixens goal machine Sharelle McMahon has an interest in Sunday’s Central Highlands Regional State League grand final at the Wendouree Netball Centre.
Her sister Kate is senior coach of the Ballarat Football Netball League team that will face off against Eureka in the decider, which is the curtain raiser to UB Ballarat Pride’s Victorian Netball League home match against Yarra Valley.
However it is a more general interest in netball that brought the 35-year-old to Ballarat yesterday.
McMahon began with a coaching session at Loreto College before heading to the Ballarat Netball Centre for a training session with a number of Ballarat Netball Association juniors.
Finally, there was a shooting session with Regional State League goalers, although McMahon humbly suggested her help might be limited.
“They’ve managed to get into the grand final on Sunday so I don’t want to get into their heads too much. If they’re in the grand final perhaps they can teach me a few things,” she said.
