Fun day to celebrate playgroups at Ballarat Library

BALLARAT’S most popular story-time puppets will be on show next week when one of the biggest playgroups converges on the Ballarat Library.

Families with young ones are encouraged to bring them along for what promises to be a whole lot of fun.

Celebrating National Playgroup Week, children will enjoy story time, face painting, and a live performance from renowned children’s entertainer Earl Leonard.

City of Ballarat councillor Des Hudson said it would be a great chance for children and parents to interact with others.

“Ballarat’s Biggest Playgroup is a fun, free day of play where we are celebrating the value of play in the lives of local children and the importance of playgroups,” Cr Hudson said.

“Our city is home to more than 40 supported and community playgroups that play a very positive part of the lives of children and their carers.”

Playgroups are known to increase important mental, physical, emotional and social skills.

Ballarat's Biggest Playgroup is on at the Ballarat Library on Tuesday, March 26.
