BALLARAT witnessed a world first last night and strap yourselves in folks, it involves hula hoops and fire.
Mademoiselle Mittens, member of the Roy Maloy Carnival Coliseum, managed to twirl her way into the record books by hula-ing the heaviest fire hoop ever.
Starring as part of the Macarthur Street Primary School fair, Ms Mittens managed to rotate the 8.26 kilogram burning hoop a head-spinning 11 times.
Her manager, Nerissa Symon said the record was a new one and had never happened before.
Fiona Darby, parent member of the Macarthur Street Primary School council, said the record-breaking act was a surprise part of a successful fundraiser.
The fair was being run to help raise money for a new playground, and raised about half of the needed $25,000.
