For anyone who's ever wanted something tougher than your average four wheel drive now's their chance.
A Rolls Royce Ferret armoured scout car is one of the items up for auction in Havelock, north of Maryborough on Sunday.
The British-built ex-Australian Army AFV has just 21 miles on the clock, and has also been a movie star, featuring in the 1970s film Little Boy Lost.
With the private owner leaving the region, the Ferret is one of hundreds of items that need a new home.
"The owner is moving away," Maryborough Ballarat Real Estate sales consultant Dominic Morrison said.
"It is a bit hard to transport. It looks pretty tough and it weighs a lot.
"There has already been a lot of attention. We'd be thinking of people with an interest in military things or for films. The interest we've had in it has been from far and wide, including interstate."
The Ferret 4x4 scout car was produced between 1952 and 1971, and has a maximum road speed of 93kmh and armour thickness of 16mm (who knows where that could come in handy?).
The one on sale Sunday is not armed with its original .30 calibre medium machine gun, however.
Among the other items up for auction are collectable tins that have already attracted absent bids of up to $300 and extremely rare bottles that have had absent bids for $100.
The auction is on Maryborough Road, Havelock, at 11am.
It is being conducted by antique agent Bruce Lowenthal, who owns a store in Port Fairy.
