NETBALL: Pride dodges injury scare

BALLARAT Pride 19/unders have dodged a major injury scare to captain Molly Boyle ahead of tomorrow night's Victorian Netball League preliminary final.

Boyle tweaked an ankle at training on Sunday night but Pride coach Kerry Lightfoot was confident that with proper strapping and rehabilitation the defender would take to the court strong.

UB Pride looks to enter the finals at full strength a second consecutive week.

This is the club's chance to make its first grand final in the revamped VNL.

Ballarat Pride reached the division one grand final of the now-defunct state league in 2008.

Pride will face Boroondara Genesis in tomorrow night's play-off - a team Pride has not beaten this season, falling five goals short in two encounters.

Genesis sports a towering shooter, Emma Ryde-Coad, who stands more than 200 centimetres tall and is deadly accurate.

Defensive efforts across the court will be imperative to severing her feed.
