Hello Sailor Vintage Fair will take over Police Lane on Sunday, while all weekend the Ballarat Heritage Market will be operating from the Minerva Room at the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute.
Crate Digger Record Fair organiser Andy Moore said the fair operated regularly in Fitzroy and East Brunswick, but this was its first regional appearance in its three-and-a-half years of operation.
“There will be about 16 stalls of records, which is about 15,000 individual records, with everything for sale,” Mr Moore said.
“There will be DJs playing records from radio stations PBS and RRR as well as local station Voice FM.”
He said records would range from 50-cent seven-inch records to more expensive rarities priced up to $250.
“One of the rare records we’ll have is a promo LP from The White Stripes – there would probably only be about 100 of them in the world.”
Pop-up collective co-founders Lisa Cressey and Steph Wallace, running the Hello Sailor Vintage Fair and the Heritage Market over the weekend, said Heritage Weekend usually attracted an older crowd, but they were hoping the markets would be fun and appeal to young people as well.
