Two four-wheel drives collided at the corner of Creswick Road and Kennedys Road at about 6.25pm.
"The white car was travelling south towards Ballarat along Creswick Road and the maroon car was believed to be travelling east on Kennedys Road," said Ballarat Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Dave Morton.
"The two cars collided at the intersection of Creswick Road and Kennedys Road.
"The driver of the white car is now deceased."
