The reigning under-18 titleholder claimed his first individual victory of the season at Brimbank on Saturday.
The Ballarat Regional Athletic Centre middle distance runner took out the under-20 6km cross country event in the fourth round of the series.
Davies, 18, clocked 19 minutes, 29.1 seconds.
He finished 20.1 seconds clear of Jack Rayner (Western), with Zac Patterson (Knox) another 14.2 seconds back in third.
The same three also filled the podium in the first individual event of the year – a 5km in Ballarat.
Rayner won on that occasion ahead of Patterson and Davies.
Ballarat also filled two of the top three placings in the boys’ under-14 4km at Brimbank.
Matthew Hussey (Western) led from the BRAC duo of Sam Williams and Nicholas Fidler.
Hussey ran 13:57.8, just edging out Williams on 14:02. Fidler’s time was 14:20.7.
Like the men’s under-20, the same three filled the trifecta in a 5km in Ballarat. Williams won on that occasion from Fidler and Hussey.
Box Hill’s Steve Kelly went back-to-back in the XCR’13 Series by winning the state 10-mile championship on Saturday.
Box Hill swamped their rivals, with Andrew White and Anthony Aloisio completing a one-two-three for the club.
The next round is a cross country event at Bundoora Park on Saturday, June 22.
This doubles as a state selection trial for the Australian Cross Country Championships.
Ballarat runners will return to club colours Chas Suffren cross country classic on Saturday.
Nathan Hartigan (Harriers) won the men’s open title last year, with Duer Yoa (Eureka) marking his returning to competitive running with a second.
