Olympics: beach volleyball medal hopes gone for Hinchley and Cook

IT’S all over for beach volleyballers Tamsin Hinchley and Natalie Cook in the London Olympic Games.

They lost their third and last pool game to the Czech Republic this morning, leaving the Australians winless and out of medal contention.

Hinchley from Ballarat and Cook needed to win to have a chance of qualifying as a “lucky loser” for the last 16 in the tournament.

They  had opportunities to put the match away against Kristyna Kolocova and Marketa Slukova, but as in their previous outings were unable to capitalise and lost in three sets – 21-16, 18-21, 15-11.
