Anne Akers said she thinks books 47 to 72 of her 72-book The Bobbsey Twins set may have been accidentally taken to the Salvation Army while they were packing up.
Mrs Akers said the books held great sentimental value as they were the last present given to her by her father before he died.
"I've had the books since I was 10," Mrs Akers said.
"I've only just unpacked the last of the boxes and realised they were missing."
The Akers moved to Morwell in late May and Mrs Akers thinks her husband may have mistakenly taken the books to the Sebastopol Salvation Army store in mid-May.
However, the books have not been found at the Beverin Street store.
The books, written by Laura Lee Hope, are still in their dust jackets and with their plastic covers on.
The first book was published in 1904 and the last in 1979 and they feature the adventures of two sets of fraternal twins, Bert and Nan, 12, and Flossie and Freddie, 6.
Anyone with information about the books can contact Mrs Akers on 0409 521003.
