POLICE have caught a driver who sped away from police this morning, causing a short pursuit through Sebastopol.
The male driver refused to pull over when police attempted to intercept the vehicle, sparking a short pursuit.
Police were forced to abandon the pursuit a short time later, but then located the same vehicle in the Elizabeth Street car park in Delacombe.
Ballarat police cordoned-off the area and a dog-squad unit, which was in the area at the time, was called to assist catch the driver who was now on-foot.
With the assistance of the dog, the man was soon caught and arrested by police members.
He has been charged with a number of driving and other offences.
