A WENDOUREE man, who was on bail for two separate sets of drug and firearm charges when allegedly caught driving a stolen car containing weapons and the drug ice, is expected to plead guilty on September 10.
Justin Kenneth Richardson, 29, made a brief appearance in Ballarat Magistrates Court yesterday. He is faced with more than 20 drug, firearm and handling stolen goods charges.
Appearing by video link from the Metropolitan Remand Centre, lawyers for Richardson said he would plead guilty to the charges.
Richardson was refused bail on May 20 this year after police informant Neville Leishman detailed his alleged offending to the court.
On April 2, Richardson was allegedly observed by police driving a stolen car that he failed to stop on police request.
After losing control of the car, Richardson and a co-accused were arrested.
A search of the car found a sawn-off double-barrel shot gun, the drug ice, 1500 empty plastic deal bags, digital scales, a baseball bat and a bag containing commercial-grade fireworks.
Magistrate John Doherty remanded Richardson to re-appear on September 10 for a plea hearing.
