AN 18-year-old with no criminal history became swept up in the illicit drug trade after being overcome by an escalating methamphetamine habit, a court heard yesterday.
Darley man Jake Braudigom appeared in Ballarat Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to charges including drug trafficking, drug possession, using meth-
amphetamine and using a drug of dependence.
The court heard Braudigom, an apprentice carpenter, began using meth-
amphetamine (ice) towards the end of 2011.
Police prosecutor Acting Sergeant Ivan Blomley said Braudigom began selling ice to support his habit. Defence lawyer Erin Ramsay said her client had not used drugs since his arrest. Braudigom will be assessed for a community correction order.
