Recovery and preparation started today for Ballarat Rush's preliminary final clash against Hobart.
The Chargers, who lost their semi-final to powerhouse Knox last night, will host Rush in the South East Australian Basketball League south conference prelim at their Tasmanian base on Friday night.
Rush kept its season alive with a 55-49 elimination final win against Nunawading in The Graveyard last night.
A focused Rush outfit kept calm under pressure in the intense, low-scoring clash.
Rush coach Peter Cunningham was pleased with how each player to hit the floor contributed well.
Kate Willey kept dangerous Spectre Tegan Cunningham under close check - none of Cunningham's 16 points were easily made.
Rush captain Kristy Rinaldi set the tone with stellar scoring to launch the match and finished with a game-high 19 points.
Nya Mason, who entered the match with a slight knee injury, and Alice Kunek took heavy hits near the post but kept fighting. Kunek pulled in 14 rebounds, Mason 10, and set up strong play.
Rush will be back in training on Tuesday night with a short burst of skills and tactical work on Thursday before travelling to Tasmania.
