EARLY voting has begun in Ballarat for the federal election on September 7.
It is a good option for those who will not be near a polling booth on the day or want to avoid the crowds.
Pre-poll centres include St Andrew’s Hall in Ballarat and the Wendouree Homemaker Centre.
Both are open between 8.30pm and 5.30pm this week and will be open until 6pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.
Voters can also apply for a postal vote by visiting the Australian Electoral Commission website or filling out a form at an Australia Post office.
It is also possible to vote at the AEC office on Doveton Street North.
A steady stream of people headed into St Andrew’s Hall to vote yesterday morning.
Ballarat MP Catherine King and Liberal candidate John Fitzgibbon were both there handing out how-to-vote cards.
