JAVELIN thrower Kathryn Mitchell has rounded out her Diamond League campaign with a fifth in Zurich.
She had just two legal throws.
Her best was 62.33 metres.
Russian Mariya Abakumova won with 68.94.
Mitchell's best effort came at her third attempt after two fouls in the field of nine earlky Friday morning (AEST).
This lifted her to third position, but she was unable to improve on that standing.
She had two more fouls before finishing the competition with 59.99.
This was the last women's javelin throw event in the Diamond League and wraps up a career-best season for Ballarat's Eureka Athletic Club member.
Mitchell had season-best of 63.77m when fifth in the World Athletics Championships in Moskva, Russia on August 18 - a career high after being a finalist at the London Olympic last year.
Her other season performances included fourth in Parish (60.86m), fourth in London (61.45m) and fourth in Stockholm (60.63m).
Germany's Christina Obergföll took out the Diamond League title.
