They're usually swarming with volunteers thrusting how-to-vote cards in the faces of hundreds, if not thousands of voters on election day.
But not Burrumbeet.
The Soldiers Memorial Hall in the tiny hamlet played host to the smallest polling both in the Ballarat electorate.
Just 136 votes were cast at Burrumbeet during the 2010 election and staff manning the booth this afternoon said about the same were expected by 6pm today.
