THE resilience of women in the region is resonating throughout a photographic exhibition on display at M.A.D.E.
As part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, photographer Rebecca Hosking has brought her photographic exhibition of 15 black and white prints that celebrate cultural diversity, strength and contribution women make to their community.
M.A.D.E director Jane Smith said the museum was proud to exhibit Ms Hosking’s work because it tied in with the values of the institution.
“Hosting Rebecca Hosking’s portraits of women at M.A.D.E in our first year of operation fits well with our hopes to promote and share the many untold stories in our community,” Ms Smith said.
“We know that many of these stories are about our women who are the fabric of healthy democracies.”
Ms Hosking’s exhibition was launched on International Women’s Day in Torquay, with more than 30 prints initially.
The Ballarat International Foto Biennale is currently displaying 21 Australian and international artists’ innovative and contemporary photography.
