MISSING beagle Oscar has bought heartache upon the Lewis family in Creswick.
The two-and-a-half-year-old beagle went missing in the Creswick State Forest on July 30 and is yet to make it home.
The Lewis family, in particular Kelly Lewis, is devastated and has spent countless hours looking for him.
“We’ve had him since July 2010, he’s about-two-and-a-half years old. He’s the first dog that my husband and I got,” Ms Lewis said.
Oscar’s sister Ruby, also owned by Ms Lewis, has struggled without her companion, having lost her appetite and still spending the majority of her day at the door waiting for Oscar to return.
Ms Lewis said Ruby was not coping well since Oscar disappeared.
“Ruby was really, really depressed, totally off her food. We have just recently got Dougal (a new Beagle) to bring her back, which it has done, but she still waits at the window for Oscar,” Ms Lewis said.
There was reports of a dog fitting Oscar’s description roaming around the Trentham area, which is about 55 kilometres from where he first went missing.
The family is offering a $5000 reward to anyone who helps find the missing pet.
