BUNINYONG has recalled the experienced Simon Crowe for tomorrow’s Central Highlands Football League grand final.
Crowe was named as the only inclusion into the Bombers’ team to take on Hepburn at selection last night.
The former Buninyong captain and premiership player returns after missing the preliminary final win over Waubra with hamstring tightness and other general soreness.
Crowe takes the place of defender Tyler Dittloff, who was dropped from the side.
Bombers coach Joe Gilbert also left out the experienced Daniel Gunn, who had been absent for the preliminary final with gastro, and Simon Eason, who has been among those pushing for selection in his comeback from a rib injury.
Gilbert said the inclusion of Crowe would help with team balance.
“It’s more just form, to be honest (with Dittloff), and what we were looking for with Crowe coming into our forward line,” Gilbert said.
As it stands, the Buninyong team will feature 18 players that played in last year’s grand final defeat against Daylesford.
Hepburn, meanwhile, named an unchanged line-up to the one that thumped Bungaree in last Sunday’s preliminary final.
Coach Clive Raak looks as though he will stick with the same 22 that beat the Demons by 55 points, booking the Burras’ place in a decider for the first time since the premiership year of 2010.
Hepburn is the only team to have beaten Buninyong this season, defeating the minor premiers in the qualifying final a few weeks ago.
Tomorrow’s grand final will kick off from 2.45pm at Eureka Stadium, Ballarat.
