Boy finds himself nominated via social media for a reality television show, where three girls vie for his affections.
Boy is initially reluctant but eventually finds the lure of having three said lovelies stay with him on his farm impossible to resist.
Thus the fairytale begins.
Waubra farmer Matt will be one of the stars of the hit TV show Farmer Wants A Wife premièring next week.
He will embark on a journey to find a wife when a group of city girls will come to his farm.
The 26-year-old never dreamed he would have been on the show but found himself caught up in the whirlwind experience after a friend's little sister nominated him.
He found out he was nominated through a Facebook message.
"I said no way. Even then - I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd get it," he said.
"But before I knew it, I had producers calling me wanting to meet me and then asked me to be on the show.
"I could have pulled out - but at the end of the day you only live that once and I though it might be a bit of fun."
The show includes a group of six farmers all searching to find their soul-mate, often from an opposing city background.
The 26-year-old is Waubra born and bred, living on his family property his entire life. They run a 3000 acre farm with cereal, potatoes, beef cattle and sheep.
Farmer Matt went to school at Damascus College, leaving when he was 16 to study by home-schooling.
Currently working on the farm and studying a diploma of agriculture at the University of Ballarat, having a camera crew and a few girls move into his home was a bit of a lifestyle change.
"Your life just goes on hold," he said.
"Having the cameras around 24-7 you don't have any time for yourself, or any real one-on-one time with the girl you might be talking to."
The cameras were a big adjustment for Matt.
"I'm not shy - I'm really sociable, I'm just camera shy," he said.
Matt admitted to untagging most of his Facebook photos. He hated the camera that much.
Although Matt had been in love before, seeing more than one woman at once was a new experience for him.
"I've had girlfriends, but never dated multiple women at the same time. So it was pretty strange to have a few girls fighting for your attention," he said.
"I'm not a guy would jump in and get married over night or anything like that. But I do want to find that sole partner - someone who I can share my life with."
With the new show format of the farmers dating all the women, a bit more competition can be expected from the show. But for farmer Matt, the main competition may not be the other farmers.
"One pesky mate of mine, Coutta, kept coming around. He wanted to steal the girls," he said.
Farmer Wants A Wife premieres on WIN on Wednesday, August 15 at 8.30 pm.
