A thick blanket of fog covered the city this morning, but it helped stop temperatures get too chilly.
Ballarat's weather is expected to be partly cloudy today (once the fog lifts), with a few showers possible tonight.
There is also the chance of a thunderstorm later this morning. Ballarat's top is forecast to be 15 degrees.
Ballarat police have arrested a Geelong man in relation to a $50,000 burglary in Ballarat last week.
Two boats were stolen from a business in Stonepark Drive and both boats have now been recovered.
Ballarat police have also warned drivers to take care on the roads this morning, with plenty of fog around.

The SES are advising there were no call-outs for the midwest region overnight, which they say is quite unusual. However, volunteers have reminded residents to be "storm safe" if the predicted thunderstorm does happen later today.
Loose objects should be secured and people should stay indoors if wind gusts are too excessive.

Vline is reporting "good service" for the Ballarat line this morning. There is a note to say coaches will replace trains between October 3 and October 12.
