After things got a little cooler last night, Ballarat should heat back up to 18 degrees today.
Experts are predicting a partly cloudy day with a possible light shower in the late morning and afternoon.
Winds will blow westerly at 25 km/h and will turn northwesterly in the middle of the day.
Ballarat firefighters attended a shed fire just before 4am this morning.
The fire was in a small garden shed near the intersection of Norman and Primrose Streets in Wendouree.
It was brought under control quickly, but the shed sustained significant damage.
Crews also attended a fire at the corner of Norman Street and Creswick road last night.
Just after 6pm, a burn-off got out of control and embers caused a small grass fire.
The blaze was contained quickly.
While not exactly in Ballarat's area, there's some sad news out of Hamilton overnight.
A man has died after his plane crashed near Hamilton Airport just before 8pm last night.
It’s believed the single engine aircraft was undertaking a training exercise when it crashed on a private farm, six kilometers north of the airport.
The 20-year-old pilot in training, believed to be from New South Wales, died on impact.
Police will assist the Australian Transport Safety Bureau in investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Ballarat's State Emergence Service volunteers attended two call-outs for trees down in the Glen Park area overnight.
The strong winds brought the trees down just after 7pm.
Mid west duty officer Gavin Kelly said at one point, the SES office recorded wind gusts of at least 60km/h.
Vline are reporting the Ballarat line to be running a "good service" this morning, with no delays listed.
However, customers are reminded to plan ahead as coaches will replace trains from October 3 to October 12 due to regional rail link works.
