THE Ballarat District Bowls Division’s 2013-2014 season kicks off this weekend with the opening of the season event held at the Victoria Bowling Club on Sunday at 1.30pm.
Club representatives, life members, and three Bowls Victoria directors will be in attendance for the first event of the year.
The annual church service will be held at the Neil St Uniting Church on Sunday at 10am.
All bowlers are welcome to attend but must wear their uniforms.
The Victorian Teachers Games has just concluded with more than 700 teachers from across Victoria choosing to play lawn bowls.
A huge thanks goes out to the eight clubs who hosted these visitors during their time in Ballarat.
Club secretaries are reminded that entries for the men’s over 60s singles and men’s fours championship events close with the division secretary on Saturday night.
Clearances and transfers show that there will be several new faces on the greens at Ballarat clubs this season.
Victorian state representatives will be playing in the premier division this year, which will raise the standard of the competition yet again.
Clubs are reminded to forward player registrations and clearances to the secretary as soon as possible.
