THE work of 12 artists from Ballarat and district will be showcased as part of this year’s Ballarat Regional Arts Trail.
The professional and semi-professional artists and artisans will open their studios during the two-day event next month. Visitors will be able to view the working environment and the work of participating artists, with the art also available for sale. Textile artist Maria Cook said she regularly interacted with people through her blog, but the event allowed the community to meet her face-to-face.
“I think it’s good for people to realise what a wealth of talent we have within the community,” Ms Cook said.
This is the third year the trail will be held in Ballarat, with painters, textile artists, sculptors, visual artists and ceramicists opening their spaces for public viewing.
