A pig at a pub – it’s probably not something too many business owners want to publicise.
But at the Blue Bell Hotel, they’re singing it from the rooftops.
As part of a fundraiser for Very Special Kids last Saturday night, the Blue Bell hosted a giant pink pig, towed behind a car, which acted as a “money box” for the night.
The pub’s acting manager, Stephen Patterson, said it was a very fun and successful night.
“All up, we’ve raised more than $1000,” he said. “Everyone got involved on that night, so it was great.”
Mr Patterson said raffles were held on the night to raise funds, including some chocolate, a $100 hamper and, of course, some meat trays.
It’s the second year the Blue Bell has got on board with fundraising for Very Special Kids.
Last year publican Dale Sellers ran every day for an entire month.
People could pay $20 to guess how much weight he would lose.
