A TECHNICAL gremlin had the Ballarat City Council off the grid for much of yesterday morning.
The hardware problem with Telstra’s national phone platform interrupted the City of Ballarat’s phone system until just before noon.
The outage effected 60,000 Telstra customers nationally from 6.30am before it was fixed at 11.45am.
Ballarat council chief information officer Annie De Jong confirmed the issue was a nationwide Telstra phone system outage.
“Customer service phone lines were restored by early this afternoon,” Ms De Jong said yesterday.
“City of Ballarat thanks customers for their patience and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
