THE Golden Point Learning And Cultural Environment (GPLACE) will open its doors to the community on Thursday.
Formerly the Golden Point Primary School, GPLACE was established in 2009 as a community hub.
Now a variety of community groups use the hub, including Ballarat University of the Third Age, Mount Clear Satellite VCAL program and the Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council.
GPLACE spokesperson Katja Fiedler said the day would be full of activities including a sausage sizzle.
“We just wanted to provide an open day for the Ballarat community to discover this community place,” Ms Fiedler said. “There will be several activities including gardening sessions in community garden, a sausage sizzle and other fun activities if the weather allows.
“It’s a great community hub, that’s what we are trying to establish.”
People can participate in tours around the historic site throughout the open day.
A GPLACE information booth will be set up for community groups and individuals seeking information.
