EMMA STEWART STABLE DOMINATES
THE Emma Stewart juggernaut continued on her hometrack in Ballarat last night, with her Smythes Creek harness racing stable producing another double.
Goodtime Marjie ($1.20 favourite) won the PETstock C0 Pace, 2200m, and Shakapac ($1.60 favourite) took out the Flying Horse Bistro C0 Pace, 2200m.
Returning after a setback enforced lay-off, Goodtime Marjie made it two wins in just four lifetime outings.
Her first preparation featured a second in a Victoria Oaks heat.
Shakapac is by Shakamaker and becomes the third winner out of broodmare Buoyancy Gold (6 wins).
Stewart, who leads the Victorian trainers’ premiership, headed up a big night for Ballarat district stables.
Other hometrack winners:
- Mother Nature ($9.80) saluted in Join Diamonds Rewards T1-T2, 2200m. The eight eight-year-old is trained by Bob Conroy at Daylesford and was driven by Anne-Maree Conroy – running down Glenn Conroy’s Drop Us Aline ($11.40).
- Lochabar ($2.10 favourite) scored in the Choice Hotels T0 Handicap, 2200m, for Sebastopol trainer Alex Douglas.
- Isabelle Delacour ($3.40) continued her rich run of form for Ross Creek trainer Stephen Clarke in the Harness Breeders (Vic) C1-C2 Pace, 1710m, rating 1:57.5. The five-year-old mare has won four of her past six starts after going 35 career runs without winning.
