BALLARAT’S newest hospitality venue, Mr Rede, will open its doors today.
The venue is a relaxed, all-day spot on Dana Street, operating as a restaurant, cafe, bar and function centre.
General manager Debra Coughlan said the newly renovated venue, in the grand 19th century building, had a warm and inviting atmosphere.
“We’re going to be serving all-day breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and opening at 7.30am every day so people can come and get their morning coffees,” she said.
“Our menu is great – we have a range of classic dishes through to tapas and sliders.”
The venue is named after Robert Rede, a figure during the Gold Rush who founded the building.
The rooms at Mr Rede have been named after family connections.
“We’ve got the Geraldine Room, named after his wife, Bobby’s Bar after his son, and the Isabelle Dining Room named after his daughter,” Ms Coughlan said.
“It will fill a gap in Ballarat’s hospitality scene, providing a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.”
