Birmingham will compete alongside fellow world championship competitors and training partners Brett Robinson and Paul Robinson in the 5km event.
Birmingham will also be part of a Lake Health Group team contesting a triathlon at Noosa.
He will combine with Michael Pierce and Jane Miller, who work at the practice.
Miller will swim the opening leg before Pierce to cycles for 40km.
Birmingham will close out the event in a 10km run.
Pierce is confident the team can win the title.
He has competed in the Noosa triathlon “about half a dozen times” and keeps returning for the festive vibe.
“It’s a great festival, plenty of good food and drink it’s a whole carnival atmosphere,” Pierce said.
Birmingham said Noosa provided a great environment to begin his yearly competition cycle. “The whole town changes, you walk down packed streets where you can barely move,” he said.
“But it is quite relaxing post and pre-event.
“Noosa is the start of my yearly cycle, then I get back to Ballarat for training.
“So after Noosa it’s time to get serious.”
