CRICKETERS around the region will pay their respects to late Ballarat Cricket Association president Alan Parker this afternoon.
The BCA has asked all clubs to hold a minute of silence prior to the start of play and wear black armbands throughout the day.
Parker died suddenly this week at the age of 58.
“Alan spent much of his life dedicating his time and efforts to ensuring we have the great game of cricket in Ballarat that we have today and the BCA believe this would be a fitting tribute from all clubs, players and officials,” a statement on the BCA website read.
Parker, a teacher at Mount Clear College for 24 years, is survived by his wife Jenny and three children, Michael, Scott and Sarah.
