WHAT’S in a name? For local four-piece Bel Air, the answer is: a lot.
Formerly known as Death by Snu Snu, the band changed its name in May this year and has since seen a rise in popularity.
“Once we changed to Bel Air, heaps of people who weren’t our friends started to get into our music. It was like a fresh start so we put a lot of effort and thought into what we were doing,” Bel Air guitarist Cam Swanson said.
Having released three singles already, the quartet recently won the local FReeZA Push Start Battle of the Bands competition before going on to win the Northern Country Regional Final.
In March next year, the band will take to the stage at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for the Battle of the Bands Grand Final, as part of the annual Push Over festival.
“We’re really excited for the future,” said Swanson.
