Time for a taste of Burgundy

BALLARAT will get a taste of Burgundy tonight as leading chef Damien Jones joins sommelier and wine maker Troy Walsh for a special dinner.

Around 60 guests will attend the Ballarat and Burgundy Dinner at the Lydiard Wine Bar, sampling new vintage Burgundy inspired cool climate Attwoods Wines made by Walsh.

The pair will revisit their successful collaboration at David Thompson’s Michelin starred restaurant Nahm in London, considered one of the best in the world.

“Troy and I worked together 12 years ago, when I was head chef and he was sommelier so I am very excited to be here doing it on the other side of the world,” he said.

“We both believe the dinner will be good food and good wine for like minded people here in Ballarat.”

Mr Walsh said the secret to pairing wine with a meal was to consider weight.

The dinner will feature the best of local and imported bio-dynamic ingredients.
