MUSIC lovers have just over two weeks to cast their vote in this year's The Age Music Victoria Awards, and with Ballarat so well represented, there's no better time to support homegrown talent.
Local bands Gold Fields, Hunting Grounds and Yacht Club DJs have each been nominated in the category of best regional act, while Karova Lounge has been nominated in the category of best regional venue.
Karova Lounge music co-ordinator Shaun Adams said the nominations reflected Ballarat's ever-strengthening music scene.
"It's an accurate account, I think, of what is happening right now and all the acts deserve to win," Adams said.
"It's great (for Karova Lounge) to be recognised with a bunch of other great venues and artists."
Meredith Music Festival and Golden Plains have also been recognised in the best festival category, while venues The Bridge Hotel and Theatre Royal in Castlemaine are also vying for the best regional venue title.
Previously known as The Age EG Awards, the new statewide The Age Music Victoria Awards will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at Billboard in Melbourne.
Voting for the awards closes on November 15. To cast your vote, visit agemusicvictoriaawards.questionpro.com
