Approximately 43,000 VCE students exited the English exam room at 12:15pm today, some relieved and others anxious as to what waits.
Ballarat Clarendon College boarding students Charlie Renney and Harriet McKindlay said the three hour challenge wasn't too difficult.
"All exams are tricky. I had a little bit of trouble with Section B but I guess you can't get all sections just the way you want them," Charlie said.
Year Twelve coordinator Laura Brady said there was a good feeling about the group before the doors opened to the exam room this morning.
"Lots of kids are feeling good," she said.
"This year is probably the calmest group."
Three hour practice exams are what Charlie believes to be the most helpful tactic, however Harriet suggests the completion of her first exam is settling.
"I'm ready for it to keep moving now. I feel I'm in the right frame of mind," she said.
"Both students plan to study in Melbourne yet wish to focus upon their next exams rather than their future.
