IMAGINE a Christmas without toys.
That is the reality for hundreds of Ballarat families, but Centacare is doing its best to help.
The welfare service is preparing for its sixth annual toy drive, to help 100 disadvantaged families celebrate Christmas.
Now the call is on for the Ballarat community to dig deep and show their generosity by donating a new present at either Toyworld or Curves gym.
Centacare senior worker Linda Smith said although a simple toy donation may seem insignificant to some, it could change a life.
“I’ve seen mums before with tears of joy because we’ve helped them out and actually helped them celebrate Christmas,” Ms Smith said.
The toy drive will be launched at Toyworld on Howitt Street on November 16 between 10am and 12pm.It will continue at Toyworld and Curves until December 15.
