It was a quiet night for Ballarat police with no major incidents reported.
However, police have warned Operation Furlong is continuing with a focus on major highways and holiday destination routes this weekend as drivers take a long Melbourne Cup weekend.
The operation focuses on speeding, drink and drug driving, fatigue and other irresponsible driver behaviours.
Ballarat Fire Brigade was also quiet overnight but firefighters have issued a warning to make sure any burn-offs in today's warmer conditions are conducted in a safe environment and they are registered with the Burn-Off Notification Hotline on 1800 668 511.
A woman was taken to Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital for observation after suffering neck soreness in an accident at Meredith overnight.
Ballarat's trains were all running on time today. However, V/Line has announced train and bus services will run to a special timetable on Tuesday for Melbourne Cup Day. Trains will operate to a Saturday timetable, however, some coach services will have alterations. Please check times using the Plan a Journey tool or call 1800 800 007 before travelling.
