Kunek from Dandenong Rangers is the player of the month for October and the Melbourne Boomers’ Molloy the coach of the month.
Kunek has come off an outstanding debut season with Rush in the South East Australian Basketball League in great touch, being a pivotal player in Dandenong’s unbeaten winning run of five games.
Having crossed from the Boomers, Kunek is averaging 20.8 points, ranking her second in the WNBL – 57 per cent from the field, 60 from three-point range and 90 from the free-throw line.
Molloy, who coached the Miners for three years until 2012, led Melbourne to four consecutive wins to start the season.
