There are not (so) many ASX-listed companies with real earnings and paying dividends with investment potential that another company can be removed from our selection.
Apart from self-interest, it is just dumb as a nation to allow monopolies to be controlled off-shore.
All the arguments for doing so are from the big end of town and not well founded such as there will be greater investment, improved infrastructure, access to overseas markets etcetera.
Anyone willing to pay such high multiples has a clear plan to recover their money and it will never be in Australia's or grain growers' interests.
Just look at electricity networks sold to overseas companies unprecedented increases in network prices, no evidence of higher reliability and with capital recovered through debt.
