A total of $455 was raised for the 3BA Christmas Appeal by passing a bucket around at the final Ballarat Netball Association (BNA) junior games in early December and at Ballarat Pride
training last
weekend.
BNA representative Reet Lenaghan was joined by Pride player Cass Peace to present the money to appeal director Peter
Caligari.
Ms Lenaghan said it was the second year they had donated to the appeal.
“We’re the lucky ones. There are far less fortunate people than us at this time of
year,” Ms Lenaghan said.
“Both the BNA and Pride wanted to see what we could do to make it a bit easier for families at
Christmas.”
Mr Caligari said the money would be used to buy essential items for disadvantaged and battling families.
He also said several sporting groups supported the appeal, including the Beaufort Golf Club which had donated every year since it began in 1980.
Creswick Golf Club also held a charity golf day recently for the appeal, while another regular contributor is the Creswick Bowling Club ladies.
“I know the welfare agencies supply a lot of support to the regions,” Mr Caligari said.
