In a bid to get more children interested in the Cycling Australia Road National Championships next month, a competition will be held to see who can best decorate their bikes.
But fear not if you do not have a bike as they can be loaned out for the competition.
With $200 in prizes available courtesy of the Buninyong and District Community Bendigo Bank branch, competition between kids is expected to be tight.
Event organiser Pat Hope encouraged kids from Buninyong and throughout Ballarat to enter their bikes in the competition.
“It helps the local kids get excited about the bike race,” Ms Hope said. “It’s a great thing for the town, it’s a free event and this is just another way for people to get involved and get into it.”
The competition will be held on January 11 and 12, with the winner to be announced on the Sunday.
For entry forms or inquiries, call Pat Hope on 5341 3711.
Entries must be posted by January 5.
