Hot and sweltering one day, cool and raining the next. Ballarat's summer weather has so far been more unpredictable than Shane Warne and Liz Hurley's engagement. Today, the temperature has taken another dive with a forecast top of just 21 degrees and a chance of thunderstorms this evening.
The weather will warm up slightly tomorrow to a top of 24 degrees but the rain will linger. However, the forecast for the big day on Wednesday is mostly sunny with a warm top of 26 degrees so let's keep our fingers and toes crossed.
POLICE
A man is currently being interviewed by CIU detectives after an assault was reported in Ballarat this morning.
Police also said last night's Operation Tradie, a high visibility blitz on drunken and anti-social behaviour in the CBD, was a success, with no incidents reported.
FIRE
The Ballarat Fire Brigade had an uneventful evening, with no call-outs.
AMBULANCE
Ambulance Victoria also reported a very quiet night around the Ballarat region, as did the SES.

All V/Line country trains are running on time this morning. V/Line reminds passengers that travel is free on Christmas Day but many long distance trains are already booked out.
