Although it will be cloudy with a chance of rain today, it will still be muggy with a top of 27 degrees. Tomorrow is tipped to be just 19 with more showers on the way, but then it will clear up for the rest of the week with sunny, warm temperatures predicted.
And, for cricket lovers, the temperature gauge will hit its peak on Boxing Day with a top of 30 degrees so make sure you pack some sunscreen and a hat in the esky if you're heading to the MCG.
POLICE
Ballarat residents are obviously trying to be nice, not naughty, in the lead-up to Christmas Day with police recording a very quiet Saturday night.
FIRE
Ballarat Fire Brigade attended three minor incidents overnight, including a small fire in a Victoria Street fast food restaurant that was quickly extinguished, a smell of smoke in an Edwards Street house in Sebastopol and a sprinkler alarm at an Eastwood Street supermarket.
AMBULANCE
Despite a spate of minor accidents in the Ballarat region on Saturday, including a two car collision at Trawalla that blocked the western bound lane of the Western Highway for about an hour, there was little to report overnight.
SES
The SES attended just one incident overnight, with a fallen tree in Hepburn blocking Connells Valley Road.
TRAINS
Ballarat trains are running on time this morning but there are minor disruptions on both the Geelong and Seymour lines. Remember to book your free ticket if you are travelling Christmas Day as many trains are already full.
